Dr. Kissner earned his B.A. in Physics from Gustavus Adolphus College and his M.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency in General Surgery at St. John's Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Kissner has written and presented articles on laparoscopic surgery including laparoscopic colon surgery. He also has a special interest in endoscopy including colonoscopy.

He and his wife, Neena, have many interests including golf, bicycling, theater, and travel.
